Hugh turned me onto Google Notebook just recently and I have to say I like it too. Google becoming the catch all suite of online apps.

What cool about notebook is the clippings. Its a great way to have a freeform suggestion box.

Google spreadsheets are constantly improving. And they're impressive. Recently on a project that Hugh and I were cleaning up and finishing up we needed to track a punch list of little items and collaborate with clients in real time. The Chat features that come with Google docs is really nice for this. You can have multiple collaborators editing the same file in real time and talking through edits in a chat window beside the doc. It's really quite effective.

That kind of real time collaboration can really cut out the communication lag that can occur in any project. And I hate to say it but ... that happens in basecamp to a a certain extent!
